PERFORMING ARTS RECITALS
All rehearsals and performances are held at the Prairie Center for the Arts.
Full costumes, including proper footwear, tights, and accessories, are required for all rehearsals and performances. Requirements for tights, shoes & accessories can be found in the Customer Portal under “Costumes.” Musicians should wear their shoes for rehearsal, but do not need to be in recital attire. Please label all costume pieces & shoes with your child’s name.
Full hair is required for all rehearsals and performances. Dance students (except boys) are required to have hair parted in the center and slicked into a low bun. Pre Ballet, Tip & Tap, Pre Jazz, and Hip Hop n Bop students should have hair off the face.
Makeup is required for all rehearsals and performances to prevent a washed-out look on stage. Dance students (except team members), including little ones, should wear at least brown eyeshadow, pink blush, and red lipstick in order that their features can be seen under the bright lights. Smokey eyes are also optional for older dancers! Team members should do their usual performance make up. It is recommended that boys and musicians also wear light makeup (i.e. blush/bronzer).
Attendance at dress rehearsal is mandatory in order to participate in the performance. Students who are ill or have a conflict with rehearsals and/or performances should immediately text us at (630)686-7227.

Pictures are $30 for digital image packages, and anyone wishing to receive pictures should sign up by April 1st on the BCS website (scroll down for order form). A picture day schedule will be released no later than April 15th.
FLOWERS, APPAREL & GIFTS
Flowers, BCS Teddy Bears, apparel, and other gifts will be available for sale in the theatre lobby before and after each performance. Online pre-orders will be available starting April 1st, to avoid the line in the lobby!
CHECK IN
One parent/guardian may bring their student to check in starting at the designated check-in time for each rehearsal & performance. All students will check in at the stage doors, by the big yellow flag. Parents of dancers under age 6 will be issued a return ticket that must be presented in order to check out their student after the rehearsals & show. Rehearsals are closed for all non-performers. Parents/guardians must leave the theatre & dressing room areas by the time rehearsal begins (for rehearsals) or the theatre doors open (for performances).
ATTIRE
Students should arrive dressed in their 1st costume, with hair and make up completed. Please label ALL costume pieces and shoes with your child’s name in permanent marker, or with clothing labels.
WARMUPS
The stage will be available for warm ups until rehearsals begin, or doors open for performances.
PARKING
Parents/Guardians and audience members park in the main parking lot, and enter through the main theatre doors for performances.
DURING REHEARSALS & PERFORMANCES
To maintain the magic and excitement of the performance, parents/guardians are not permitted in the theatre or dressing rooms during rehearsals. They are also not permitted backstage during performances. Our littlest dancers use convertible costumes that do not require changing tights. Teachers and teaching assistants will be assisting with shoe changes, and will also assist students who may need help with a costume change. This will allow parents to be able to sit back and enjoy the show!!
REHEARSAL DISMISSAL
One parent/guardian may assist in collecting the student’s items from the dressing room. Students should check out at the stage door after they have removed ALL of their belongings. Students in the Gala Showcase may keep their items in the dressing rooms after rehearsal on Thursday, May 28, provided they are orderly.
PERFORMANCE DISMISSAL
One parent/guardian with a student claim ticket should meet their child at the Studio dressing room to check out. This parent/guardian may then assist in collecting the student’s items. Once they have removed ALL of their belongings, they may exit through either the stage door or main theatre entrance. For students who do not require a claim ticket, one parent/guardian may meet them in their assigned dressing room to assist with their items following the performance.
