PBT

Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon specifically for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet. It uses muscle memory to improve students’ understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment. Sometimes it can be difficult for students to feel which muscles are initiating the correct alignment in their ballet training. PBT uses a fit ball, which is continually mobile under the student’s body. This gives the students an awareness of their posture and weight placement, while allowing them to feel each correct muscle group. This is a non-recital class. 2020-2021 Schedule: Saturdays, 9:00-10:00am (1 hour) Studio 5 View session dates Tuition View tuition chart (3 week credit will be issued due to late session start) Dress Code Girls wear a leotard, convertible/footless tights, and bare feet. Beginning Ballet 2

Ballet is the fundamental base for all dance styles, and provides dancers with training in proper technique, discipline, grace, precision, and classroom etiquette. Beginning Ballet 2 class will continue concepts and techniques learned in Beginning Ballet 1, while expanding students' vocabulary, technique, and coordination. Students will develop correct posture and body alignment through work at the barre, including demi plié, grand battement, relevé, and more, as well as center work, including arabesques, chaîné, chassé, single pirouettes, and basic jumps. Students in Beginning Ballet will learn a combination of French, Cecchetti & Vaganova methods. Private lessons are recommended for students who have not had prior ballet training, in order for them to catch up. This class does not participate in the recital. At least two classes per week are recommended to ensure students progress at the appropriate pace. 2020-2021 Schedule Mondays, 4:30-6:00pm (1.5 hours) Studio 3 Tuesdays, 4:45-6:15pm (1.5 hours) Studio 2 Thursdays, 6:00-7:30pm (1.5 hours) Studio 4 View session dates Tuition View tuition chart (3 week credit will be issued due to late session start) Dress Code Girls wear a black leotard, pink or skin-tone tights, and pink stretch canvas ballet shoes.
