PBT
Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon specifically for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet. It uses muscle memory to improve students’ understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment.
Sometimes it can be difficult for students to feel which muscles are initiating the correct alignment in their ballet training. PBT uses a fit ball, which is continually mobile under the student’s body. This gives the students an awareness of their posture and weight placement, while allowing them to feel each correct muscle group. This is a non-recital class.

Advanced Lyrical/Contemporary
This technique-based class will explore both the lyrical and contemporary styles for advanced dancers. Lyrical is a style that teaches the use of movement to express song lyrics. Dancers will take their training to the next level by allowing their bodies to move freely to the music, while maintaining a proper base. Contemporary is a modern style which blends aspects of ballet, modern and jazz. Dancers will increase their technical knowledge as they explore more unpredictable choreography and improvisation. Enrollment in a ballet class is also required for the school-year session.
